- We ourselves are surprised that so little money has been distributed, says Eva Bodén at the Swedish Tax Agency, who handles the applications.

The support, which will go to recurring events with at least 250 participants, includes both organizers and subcontractors, ie sound technicians, musicians and others involved.

This applies to both cultural and sporting events, as well as fairs and markets.

Theater producer: Move the money

Ordinary activities, such as football-Swedish matches and the like, can not apply, nor can the theaters' regular activities.

- Instead, we have managed on the support from the Swedish Arts Council, but we see that we get less money from there each time, says theater producer Bosse Andersson at the organizer 2Entertain.

Therefore, we want them to be able to move money from event support, which no one can apply for, to other cultural support.

Get rejected

According to Eva Bodén, the problem with the event support is not that the applicants are rejected:

- No, our estimate is that most applicants apply for support, but not many applied.

Kulturnyheterna is looking for the Ministry of Trade and Industry, which provides event support, for a comment.
