The atmosphere became more breathable in the Lyon conurbation on Monday.
The Rhône prefecture therefore lifted the differentiated traffic which had been introduced last weekend, due to an episode of pollution with fine particles in the Lyon-North Isère basin.
"Given the improvement in air quality in the Lyon-north Isère basin, the prefect is lifting the measures put in place, in particular differentiated traffic," the prefecture said on Twitter.

Since Saturday at 5 a.m., only vehicles with a Crit'Air sticker of class 0, 1, 2 and 3 have been authorized to circulate in Lyon and the neighboring towns of Villeurbanne and Caluire-et-Cuire.
Temporary speed reduction measures had also been taken on the main roads of the department.
An episode of fine particle pollution began Thursday, January 13, when the levels of these particles had "significantly increased under the effect of temperature inversion" in the region, according to Atmo Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes which had classified the area in "orange vigilance".
