China News Service, January 16. According to the website of the Shenyang Emergency Management Bureau, the Shenyang Emergency Management Bureau recently announced the investigation of the 10.21 explosion accident on Taiyuan South Street.
The direct cause of the accident was that during the construction of the barbecue restaurant’s gas grid connection, the construction personnel failed to effectively seal the flange after welding, and did not conduct tightness inspections, resulting in gas leakage for 3 hours and 25 minutes.
The leaked gas exploded when it met the electric spark, and the explosion equivalent was about 80kgTNT.
The accident revealed that the relevant personnel forged files and interfered with the handling of the case by the accident investigation team.
The accident investigation report suggested that 10 people should be transferred to judicial organs for handling, 6 people should be given administrative punishment, and the list and clues of 32 people who should be held accountable should be handed over to the Disciplinary and Supervision Commission for handling in accordance with laws and regulations.
The accident caused 5 deaths, 3 serious injuries and 49 minor injuries, with a direct economic loss of about 44.25 million yuan.
