A Pakistan International Airlines pilot refused to fly from Dammam to Islamabad on Sunday because his work hours had expired.

Pakistan's "Sama" channel reported that flight PK 9754 was ready to take off from Riyadh to Islamabad, but it was delayed due to bad weather.

According to the channel, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing at Dammam Airport, as his service ended and he refused to continue the flight.

Passengers protested the flight delay and refused to change planes.

After a few minutes the situation became tense, the security men were called.

A PIA spokesperson said, "The pilot should rest as it is essential for flight safety. All passengers will arrive at 11pm at Islamabad Airport until then, all arrangements have been made in the hotels."
