[Commentary] Yin Hong, who lives in Xinqiao Town, Songjiang District, Shanghai, is a senior runner.

This "Auntie Shanghai", who is about to turn 67 years old, has already run 87 marathons and is sprinting towards the goal of running 100.

On January 14, a reporter from China News Agency met Aunt Yin Hong in the activity room of the Chunxin Neighborhood Committee of Xinqiao Town.

In fact, in addition to being a runner, Yin Hong is also a charity runner who has accompanied visually impaired runners for 6 years.

Through a thin running rope, she accompanied the visually impaired child out of the house and ran onto the track.

Talking about the original intention of escorting, Aunt Yin said that it originated from a scene she saw in the international marathon more than 6 years ago.

At the beginning of 2015, I participated in the Tokyo Marathon and the Seoul Marathon. In these two marathons, I saw that foreigners were running with disabled people and blind people. They ran with a rope, so I ran with them. I just thought I could help others with this.

[Commentary] Yin Hong told reporters that she was a medical staff before retiring and had a unique advantage in running with the visually impaired.

Through a domestic organization, Yin Hong met several visually impaired runners, the oldest in their 40s and the youngest "post-90s".

From 1km, 5km, 15km to half marathon and full marathon, Yin Hong witnessed them become cheerful and confident step by step, and started a more exciting life.

Among them was a child who was blind at the age of 35.

Then after being blind for 5 years, she began to walk out. When she came out, because she was not an athlete, and then she was 40 years old, it was very difficult for her to run 1 kilometer at all.

Then I drove from our house to her door in the morning, I took her to the park, and then ran with her, starting from 1km until she hit the half-marathon track, and then the best time was 2 hours and 39 minutes.

[Explanation] A "post-90s" visually impaired runner found Yin Hong in April 2021 when he learned that a "Silk Ancient Road Ten Thousand Miles" hiking competition would be held in Dunhuang.

In the end, with Yin Hong's encouragement and company, the two completed a four-day, three-night 108-kilometer journey together in the vast Gobi.

When the visually impaired runners walked to the podium, Aunt Yin Hong was filled with emotion.

During the 6 years of running with them, I have experienced and surpassed them together. This friendship is far from being expressed by the word "partner".

  They need to play.

I can act as a kind of escort, a companion, and then go and help them and walk with them on the track.

In the future, I will continue to do it, because I don't think I have a relationship with them. I think we are already friends, and some children have become close friends with me.

[Commentary] Looking back on the 6 years of running with him, Yin Hong said with emotion that after 6 years of running with him and getting along with him, he saw their unique joy and laughter from these visually impaired runners, and also saw their adversity in the sun. Optimistic and determined.

And in this run to the "bright" side by side, she continued to write a story full of love, courage and warmth with them.
