Men with masks are more attractive to women

Researchers at the British Cardiff University claim that masks make men more attractive to the eye.

A new study showed that people who wear a muzzle are considered more attractive to women compared to others who do not wear anything that covers their faces.

According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail".

In the study, which began in February 2021, researchers asked 43 women to rate pictures of men on the basis of attractiveness.

The pictures were shown with two different types of face masks, a blue medical mask and a plain cloth mask, and the participants said that those wearing surgical masks were the most attractive.

Dr Michael Lewis of the university's School of Psychology said the study demonstrated that our preferences have changed over time - with face masks considered to be making a person less attractive before the pandemic.

He added, "Our study indicates that faces are considered more attractive when covered with medical face masks."

He explained, "This may be because we are used to health care workers wearing blue masks... At a time when we feel weak, we may find wearing medical masks reassuring and therefore we feel more positive about the wearer."

He continued, "It is possible that face masks make people more attractive because they direct attention only towards the eyes."

The results of the study were published in the journal Cognitive Research, while the results of a second study asking men to rate a woman's attractiveness has yet to be released, but Dr. Lewis said the results were similar.

Scientists had confirmed that masks could significantly limit the spread of Covid by halving the distance through which infectious particles could travel.
