The human rights organization "We Record" reported that it had documented the Egyptian authorities' kidnapping of Egyptian citizen Hossam Menoufi Mahmoud Salam after an emergency landing of the Sudanese Badr Airlines plane at Luxor Airport.

And she added - in another tweet - that during the Badr Airlines flight, No. (J4690), heading from Khartoum to Istanbul;

The flight commander informed the passengers that there was a technical problem that required the plane to make an emergency landing at Luxor Airport, and then the Egyptian security forces arrested the engineer, Hossam Salam.

The organization wrote a series of tweets, concluding with one in which it says that it condemns the Egyptian authorities' targeting of political opponents. The Ministry of Interior and the National Security Agency also hold the safety of citizen Hossam Salam, and demand that his whereabouts be disclosed and his immediate release.

Engineer Hossam Salam was arrested by the Sudanese authorities at Khartoum airport on January 12th.

Twitter interactions

The issue of the arrest of the Egyptian dissident sparked an interaction on the communication platforms, as tweeters demanded a boycott of the Sudanese Airlines Company through the hashtag ("boycott Badr Airlines").

Among the interactions that were monitored by “Nashrat Al-Shameh-Nashratkoum” on 01/14/2022, human rights activist Haitham Abu Khalil tweeted, where he wished freedom for Hossam Salam, and said that the Public Prosecution was supposed to issue a statement explaining what happened to him, “As for the company, Badr Aviation, its crime goes beyond the boycott in carrying out what will happen to this innocent young man being pursued.

Mohamed Emad wrote in his tweet that the Egyptian intelligence had agreed with the Sudanese airline to claim that there was a malfunction in the plane and to make an emergency landing at Luxor Airport, so that the security forces inside the plane could arrest Hossam Salam.

While Rami Salameh explained that the aviation law prevents the state from inspecting a foreign plane in its territory, how can Hossam Salam be taken away unless he is notified and the matter is arranged?

Mohamed Hani wrote, "Even the airspace of Egypt is no longer safe!!"
