They say that you cannot go into the same river twice, meaning that in a matter of moments the current carries away the water into which you entered. But some still try to do it, hoping to return the past. The President of Ukraine, according to the press service of Zelensky's office, again decided to tackle the topic of Donbass. You see, he said that it was time to substantively negotiate an end to the conflict. I don't know what fly bit him, but it looks like he, against the background of a catastrophically collapsed rating, is trying to repeat the success that ensured his victory in the presidential election. Then he was mainly voted by people who believed his promises to end the war. However, after a very short time, it became clear that hopes were in vain.
And then Zelensky began to turn into an evil and extremely stupid militarist who tried to win the love of nationalists. In some areas, he managed to surpass even Petro Poroshenko. Over the two years of his reign, we have heard a lot: that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are at war in the Donbass with Russia, that the inhabitants of the rebellious territories dream of returning to Ukraine and they need help to do this. His attacks on Moscow were so ridiculous that even the Ukrainians themselves felt what is called Spanish shame, listening to the confused and often just joking speeches of their leader. And so he again decided to try on the role of a peacemaker, but it is not very likely that his fellow citizens, after everything he said and did, would believe him.
Now let's move on to the most informational message of the presidential office press service. The question is, what kind of stupid bureaucracy is: "to discuss substantively"? Is it possible to discuss such serious questions pointlessly? Well that's it, notes in the margins. “We are ready for the necessary decisions during the new summit of the leaders of the four countries,” Zelensky said. This “we” is especially touching. It's terribly funny, especially after the news that he discussed the situation with advisers to the President of France and the Chancellor of Germany. According to the protocol, the guests by rank must correspond to the head of state, and now it is really "to the point". But on the merits of the issue, the Ukrainian leader is breaking into a tightly closed door. How many times has he already proposed to revive the Normandy format, and how many times various politicians and officials, including the president, answered him from Moscow,that meeting just for meeting is not planned.
First, Kiev must fulfill the commitments it made during the Normandy Four meeting on December 9, 2019.
Only after that does it make sense to meet and discuss further steps.
Let me remind you that in the general conclusions of the Paris summit, in fact, the main points of the Minsk agreements are listed sequentially and the parties, having signed the document, express their adherence to them.
What happens next?
Zelensky returns to Kiev and almost immediately disavows his signature, explaining that he does not intend to cross the red lines.
This is some kind of limitless mixture of stupidity and rudeness - to openly and defiantly throw Russia, Germany and France the very next day after the meeting!
We all know very well what happened next. Ukraine flatly refuses to enter into direct negotiations with representatives of the people's republics. The reluctance has been talked about for a long time and from different tribunes. But most importantly, Kiev continues to intensively shell the Donbass. I remember that Zelensky during the pre-election period promised to give an order to stop the artillery strikes. But for two years the cannons are not silent. After all, ending the conflict is extremely simple - really withdraw the weapons and stop firing. It would seem that nothing at all. But Zelensky needs a war. She is a mobilizing factor, she can shield herself from the problems that Ukraine has a cart and a small cart. In addition, it is impossible to abandon the myth of the return of the lost territories - the Nazis will demolish it.
So there is no hope that Kiev will change its strategy, and is not expected.
But we have good news: the republics are keeping up their defenses with dignity, raising their economies and integrating more and more into Russia.
Moreover, the idea of recognizing the republics is already walking along the corridors of power.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft resolution.
MP Kazbek Taisayev said: "I am sure that we will be able to implement this task in the near future."
“Today our citizens, our people, our compatriots, our relatives and friends are dying.
We cannot accept this, and we will definitely solve this problem, ”the parliamentarian said.
