Morocco.. Investigation into the filming and publication of a video of a "Caesarean section in a hospital" on "YouTube"

The Regional Directorate of Health of Souss-Massa in Morocco said, on Tuesday, that it has initiated an urgent investigation in order to determine all the reasons for filming a videotape, without a license, inside the operating room of the maternity department of the Inzgane Regional Hospital.

A 15-minute and 41-second video was uploaded to YouTube seven days ago, and achieved high viewing rates of nearly half a million views, showing a pregnant woman and a man documenting audio and video for moments before, during and after the birth of a newborn in the maternity ward.

The tape showed scenes of the woman in the operating room during a caesarean section in order to deliver her newborn inside the competent department of the Inzgane Regional Hospital, a content that was widely circulated on social networking sites and instant messaging platforms.

The directorate highlighted that it is seeking to open an investigation into the aforementioned tape to find out the truth of the matter and to determine the responsibilities in view of taking all applicable measures in this regard.
