Parisien

, the head of state said he was determined to “piss off the unvaccinated”, described as “irresponsible”. Words that "particularly shocked" José Mercier, mayor of the small town of Bovel in Ille-et-Vilaine. In a letter sent this Tuesday to the public prosecutor of Rennes, the elected official announces that he is filing a complaint against the President of the Republic for "insult, attack on honor, defamation, discrimination and stigmatization".

Himself unvaccinated, José Mercier believes that it is "in the strictest legality".

"Also, these words and invective, by the contempt they express, affect the image I have of myself and the one that my fellow citizens are likely to have of their mayor," wrote the elected official in his letter. , unlabeled mayor of Bovel since 1993.

A retiree from Corrèze also lodged a complaint

If he "personally refuses to be vaccinated", he assures that he has nothing against vaccination.

As mayor, he has also “personally contributed to setting up two vaccination systems” in his town, “thus attesting to my deep respect for the freedom of choice of my fellow citizens and my support”.

On the other hand, he refuses to be accused of "irresponsible".

“These words are stigmatizing and discriminatory,” he emphasizes.

They attack my personal dignity, my honor, my image as a citizen and elected representative of the Republic ”.

Known for his fight against Linky counters, José Mercier is not the only one to file a complaint against Emmanuel Macron.

A retiree from Corrèze has thus announced his intention to do the same.
