Shizuoka City announced on the 11th that it was confirmed that 18 new people in the city were infected with the new coronavirus mutant virus "Omicron strain".
Shizuoka City has indicated that 9 out of 18 people whose infection route is unknown are highly likely to be infected in the city.
This is the first case in Shizuoka prefecture where there is a suspicion of community-acquired Omicron strain.
In Shizuoka Prefecture, infection with the "Omicron strain" has now been confirmed in 36 people.
