Al-Moussawi - in statements to the "Beyond the News" program on 10/1/2022 - rejected the view that the coalition witnessed by the parliament session yesterday between the Sadr bloc and Kurdish and Sunni forces is the largest bloc, stressing that this coalition is temporary and cannot be believed. It will always be, because the Sunni and Kurdish forces cannot ally with one of the Shiite blocs at the expense of the other and contribute to creating a major political crisis in the country.
The Shiite coalition forces - which includes all Shiite forces with the exception of the Sadrist movement bloc - had announced their rejection of what happened in the session and included the election of the speaker and two deputies, stressing that it is the largest bloc in Parliament, and not the temporary coalition that was formed in yesterday's session.
But political analyst Mushais al-Tamimi adopted a different viewpoint, and considered what happened in yesterday's session legal and did not deviate from the text of Iraqi law.
The same speaker played down the impact of the anger of other Shiite forces, considering that the matter falls within the framework of the democratic process, which is often punctuated by many conflicts and differences.
Indeed, Al-Tamimi considered what happened in yesterday's session of electing the Speaker and his two deputies, in line with the spirit of democracy, and that it would be a reason for the birth of a responsible opposition that would monitor the government's performance.
The professor of international media, Fadel Al-Badrani, agreed with Al-Tamimi’s opinion, considering that what happened comes within the framework of the democratic process, and stressed that the Iraqi judiciary is capable of resolving contentious issues, and praised what he described as the democratic achievement achieved by the Iraqi people, which was praised and welcomed by the countries of the world.
