A delegation from the "Sharjah Consultant" visits the Islamic Arts Festival

Members of the Cultural, Artistic and Education Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council, headed by Dr. Hamid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Committee, visited the exhibitions of the 24th Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival, where they were received by the Director of the Cultural Affairs Department of the Department of Culture, Muhammad Ibrahim Al Qasir, and the delegation was briefed on the artworks The exhibit, which included more than 200 artworks by artists from different countries.

The members of the delegation expressed their great admiration for the displayed calligraphic works, decoration and gilding, and for the twenty-fourth session of the festival “Tradjat”, which expresses the pioneering cultural role of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the main supporter of all activities that serve culture At all levels.

The tour began in the calligraphers' homes, where the delegation listened to explanations from the calligraphers, then moved to the halls of the Sharjah Center for Arabic Calligraphy and Decoration, where the delegation attended a workshop that was held at the time at the center, under the title "Modern Techniques in Restoration of Manuscripts and Historical Documents".

Al-Qusair said that the festival is part of the Sharjah cultural project, which, over a quarter of a century, has succeeded in restoring an artistic heritage with its own aesthetics, thanks to the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and here is Sharjah reaping the results of this cultural work, as the festival was able to book An important place in the world art scene.
