The facts took place on Saturday afternoon in Lyon around 3:30 p.m., in the midst of a demonstration against the health pass, in which nearly 2,000 people participated.

A tear gas grenade, launched by the police, landed inside an apartment, yet located on the third floor of a building on rue Romarin.

Smoke quickly escaped from the windows, as evidenced by a video posted on social networks and relayed by several local media.

A woman and her children were inside but were not injured or taken to hospital, said Le Progrès.

According to the Rhône prefecture, cited by France 3, this is an “incident”.

The grenade, sent to respond to the projectiles launched by the demonstrators, would have involuntarily bounced off the facade of the building before reaching the window of the apartment by ricochet.

The police are said to have "intervened immediately to help the inhabitants concerned".
