It is because he is crazy about his city that Mourad, a young photographer, launched the “Lost In Tunis” project.

The idea?

Go shoot, in urbex mode (abbreviation of urban exploration), the most emblematic places of the Tunisian capital.

Whether they are of architectural, cultural or religious interest, all the buildings explored have one sad point in common: they are abandoned.

“Thanks to Urbex, people are starting to understand that there is a lot of potential ignored, forgotten in Tunis, enthuses Mourad.

Basically, we don't know our city, we don't know our past.

"

The desire to “rediscover” the city

An 18th-century Italian palazzo can be found, for example, in the middle of a busy market.

"Suddenly, people pass by without noticing it, because of the shops, the merchandise, the shelves", regrets Mourad.

Join him on the roofs of the medina for a guided tour of Tunis thanks to this video from our partner Brut.
