He did not confirm in Madrid until 58, afternoon in which Antonio Bienvenida suffered a very serious goring to the neck, with Gregorio Sánchez as a witness. That year he would sign two good tasks in Las Ventas without rounding off with the sword. Precisely, years later, he became a reference with the rapier for his forcefulness. As a muleteer, he stood out for how tight he wore them.

He managed to harvest a great poster in Seville, he was the absolute winner of the 1962 April Fair, and in Madrid where he was proclaimed winner of San Isidro the same year, achieving the only Puerta Grande of his career.

The aforementioned Aragonese goring was the most serious of all he received throughout his career, marked by mishaps: he suffered 14 goring, of which eight were serious, such as Bilbao in 1957, Seville and Salamanca in 58, Pamplona in 1960 or Zaragoza in 62 -his best year since he was injured at the end of the season with 79 walk-ins made-, among others.

In recent years he had to face the most feared irons such as Miura or Pablo-Romero.

His last triumphant season was 1968, then he continued with passion, courage and his fighter spirit until 1980. He was a bullfighter with great courage, they called him "Jaime Corazón de León" for his ability to excel.
