"What are you doing, Mom?" .. A British woman strangles her three children

A British mother strangled her three children, suffering from depression, despite a miserable plea by one of her children to stop her, asking, "What are you doing, Mom?"

In the details of the tragic killing, Father Andrew McGinley said that his wife Deirdre Morley, aged 44, killed the three children, Connor, (9 years), Darrag (7 years), and Carla (3 years), in their Dublin home on 24 January 2020, when Morley fell into a delusion and psychosis.

The father revealed that he could not stop hearing the last words of his son Connor, who screamed for his mother to stop killing him, using a bag and duct tape to strangle him.

He added that he "has no future" with his wife, who was proven innocent of the murder because she was insane, according to the court, as she was deposited in a mental hospital.

The court revealed that the mother wanted to die with her children, as she tried before suffocating them to sedate them.

The night before the tragedy, I put morphine in the boys' breakfast cereal and Carla's bottle, but they spit it out.

The next day, 7-year-old Daragh, who was in the house where he didn't go to school because he was sick, was killed first.

During her trial, she said she immediately regretted killing Daragh and wanted to stop, but she felt she could not because she was unable to leave any of her children behind.

After Daragh and Carla strangled him with duct tape and plastic bags, she brought Connor from school, and while he was watching a children's program in a play tent indoors, she approached him with a bag and duct tape.

She explained that when she put the bag on his head, he said to her, "Stop mom, what are you doing? But she replied, I'm sorry Connor."

After committing the crime, Morley decided to commit suicide, and drove her car after consuming alcohol and medicines, as she hit the car in a roundabout.

After that, a driver took her to her house and called an ambulance for fear of her. At the same time, the husband returned from a business trip, when he found the bodies of his three children.

He also found a note warning against going upstairs saying "I'm sorry".

And the mother can be released after five years only if doctors declare that she is in a good mental state, according to the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”.

For her part, the mother, who worked as a nurse, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity during her trial at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin, Ireland, an opinion supported by two psychiatric consultants, one for the defense and the other for the prosecution, according to "Al Arabiya Net".

The court heard how Morley had fallen into severe depressive psychotic illness, as she was suffering from bipolar II disorder, a known mental disorder.

She previously suffered a breakdown in July 2019 and spent four weeks in a psychiatric hospital.
