On the morning of the 5th, a garbage truck hit a man in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and ran away as it was.

The man subsequently died, and police have secured a driver for a garbage truck and are listening to the situation on suspicion of hit-and-run.

Around 6 am on the 5th, at the intersection of a city road in Yamazaki, Kamakura City, a female passerby reported to the police that a garbage truck hit a man and ran away.



The man who was hit was supposed to be in his 70s and was taken to the hospital, but he died after hitting his whole body.



When the police were investigating the whereabouts of the garbage truck that had run away, they found it at a business office in the city about 30 minutes later, so they are listening to the situation on suspicion of hit-and-run from a 73-year-old driver.



According to police investigation, the driver was collecting garbage by himself at that time and admitted that he had hit a person.



The site is a traffic light-free intersection about 1 km south of JR Ofuna Station, and police are investigating the details of the accident.
