Collapse of a bridge

"For a still unknown reason", an overhead crane used to transport loads in a workshop on the site "collapsed during a production operation, causing the fall of a bucket containing molten metal, without flow of the latter at this stage, ”the prefecture explained on Monday.

The investigation services should be able to access "at the end of the week" to the place where the body of the 38-year-old employee, employed since 2018 in this subsidiary of the Swiss Steel Group, was discovered.

About fifty firefighters were mobilized to cool the installations, the operation requiring "to make openings in the side bays of the steelworks building to allow the heat to escape", explains the prefecture.
