Kyoto Prefecture announced that it has been confirmed that 11 new people have been infected with the new coronavirus "Omicron strain" in the prefecture.

Two of them are police officers from the Nantan Police Station, who have already been confirmed to be infected with three people, and the prefecture says that the second cluster of cases has occurred in the prefecture due to the "Omicron strain".

According to Kyoto Prefecture, 11 people in their teens to 90s were newly confirmed to be infected with the "Omicron strain".



All 11 are hospitalized and all have mild or asymptomatic symptoms.

Two of the 11 people announced on the 4th have no history of traveling abroad and the infection route is unknown, and the prefecture states that "there is a high possibility of a new community-acquired infection."



Last month, the prefecture announced that five people who had participated in the same dinner were infected, and one new infection was confirmed for the cluster that was said to have occurred in the "Omicron strain" for the first time in the prefecture.



As a result, a total of 52 people have been confirmed to be infected with the "Omicron strain" in Kyoto Prefecture.
