At 4 pm on August 13, 2019, 22-year-old Xiaomei was sitting alone in the lobby of a hotel in Xicheng District, Beijing. She was waiting for her future boss, Mr. Wang.

But two hours passed, and there was no figure of Mr. Wang. She had to contact Mr. Wang’s driver, Zhao Jun, but Zhao Jun came out with bad news: “Mr. Wang had a car accident!” Then, Zhao Jun sent a video.

In the video, a person was lying on a bed in the emergency center with a face covered in blood and was pushed into the operating room.

Xiaomei didn't expect that this was a scam that was interlocking.

With the final verdict of the Beijing Third People's Court, the routine and interest chain behind this "recruitment beauty loan" have also been exposed.

  Assistant President

Need to sign "additional terms" plastic surgery

On July 7, 2019, Xiaomei, who was looking for a job, saw a company recruiting an assistant to the president on a city-wide recruitment platform, and she immediately submitted her resume.

Two days later, a person who claimed to be Mr. Jin added her to WeChat.

He asked Xiaomei about some personal information, but said that it was not that he wanted to hire people. He was just an intermediary who could help her find a suitable company.

After inquiring about Xiaomei's personal situation and hobbies in detail, she told Xiaomei that her job is to be a personal assistant for clients, with a monthly salary of 80,000 yuan.

Xiaomei expressed "yes" on the spot.

In late July, Xiaomei met her future employer Wang Zong and her driver Zhao Jun.

On August 1, 2019, Zhao Jun asked Xiaomei to meet and said to Xiaomei, “Mr. Wang can’t come on a business trip. The boss is very satisfied with you, but there is an additional clause that needs to be signed.” Its “additional clause” is to let Xiaomei is undergoing micro-cosmetic surgery and needs a 24-term loan.

The terms also stipulate that the loan will be repaid by Mr. Wang.

After that, Xiao Mei went to a plastic surgery institution under the leadership of Zhao Jun and spent 85,000 yuan to do eight projects including double eyelid, rib and prosthetic rhinoplasty, and face-lifting needles.

When making the payment, Xiaomei was surrounded by the head of the plastic surgery agency and two consumer finance company loan salesmen, and signed without much consideration.

At that time, she did not have a fixed job and the loan amount was not high, so she borrowed 30,000 yuan from Home Credit, 10,000 yuan and 40,000 yuan in two "instant installments".

It is reported that 80,000 yuan of the above payment was directly transferred to the account of the plastic surgery institution, and the remaining 5,000 yuan was paid to the hospital by Xiaomei.

After she was discharged from the hospital, Xiaomei contacted Zhao Jun and expressed that she would like to ask Mr. Wang to discuss loans and later work arrangements. After pushing left and right, the other party finally agreed to meet.

On the day of the meeting, the scene at the beginning of this article appeared. The driver Zhao Jun said, "Mr. Wang had a car accident!"

Zhao Jun sent a video of Mr. Wang in a car accident to Xiaomei via WeChat.

In the video, a person was pushed into the operating room while lying on a bed in the emergency center.

And this video Xiaomei was withdrawn by Zhao Jun as soon as she finished watching it.

Xiaomei did not suspect that the video was true or false, and she has always been concerned about Mr. Wang's "condition".

At the beginning, Zhao Jun said that Mr. Wang was in a coma, then he said that Mr. Wang's condition had deteriorated and he was transferred to Shanghai.

In short, Xiaomei did not have the opportunity to visit Mr. Wang who was in a car accident.

As the loan repayment date approached, Xiaomei became more and more anxious, worried that not paying the money would affect her personal credit investigation.

Zhao Jun replied, "I can't help it, I'm just a driver."

Until mid-September, Xiaomei could not wait for any good news, President Jin could not be contacted, and the beauty agency did not say anything, so she finally chose to call the police.

  Scam gang caught

Participation of cosmetic surgery organization in profit sharing

As the police intervened in the investigation, Xiaomei learned that at almost the same time and with the same tactics, this gang did the same to defraud multiple job applicants.

28-year-old Xiao Cai was about to join the job, only to learn that "the boss had a car accident on the way back to Beijing and became a vegetable."

After the fraud occurred, Xiao Cai, as one of the victims, once confessed to the police that he had been borrowing money to repay and that he "has been unable to live a normal life", and both Jin Zong and Zhao Jun, the driver who appeared in Xiao Mei and Xiao Cai's case, were both " The original crew".

In December 2019, Xiaoxue posted her job resume online, and then she received a recruitment invitation.

The other party said that he could introduce him to the position of assistant to the general manager. The monthly salary is also 80,000 yuan, but this position has certain requirements for appearance.

Seeing that Xiaoxue hesitated about the cost of plastic surgery, the other party said that she only needs to apply for a loan on the online loan platform, and all expenses will be reimbursed by the company.

Xiaoxue used the loan to successfully perform cosmetic surgery in the beauty salon.

Unexpectedly, after the operation, the interviewer changed his enthusiasm before, and did nothing about his entry, even not answering the phone.

The police launched a special operation on this. The Beijing police dispatched more than 30 arrest teams in Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong, Henan, Hebei and other places to simultaneously arrest members of the scam gangs, and attacked more than 10 "jobs and beauty loan" scam gangs and Individuals carried out precise strikes, investigated the 9 involved medical beauty institutions, and detained 123 criminal suspects.

"Zhao Jun" and "Mr. Jin" were arrested in this operation.

They use high salaries as bait to find job seekers on multiple recruitment platforms, and then ask job seekers to loan for plastic surgery for reasons such as the external image of the position.

They do not have a fixed office space. They meet with job applicants in the car or in the lobby of the hotel. The plastic surgery organization also contacts the other party beforehand.

In order to attract more customers, the plastic surgery organization chooses to cooperate with the intermediary, and the interests of both parties are shared afterwards.

The recruitment gang and the beauty hospital cooperate with each other, through the recruitment, plastic surgery, loan and other links, layer by layer, various routines are intertwined, forming a complete chain of interests.

A reporter from the Beijing Youth Daily noted that the victim group showed four characteristics: female, low age, low education, and eager to find a job.

In the “Job Beauty Loan” case, the suspect specifically targeted job-seeking women, set up a scam and fabricated words based on the psychology and application needs of this group.

In the process of fraud, criminals’ "identity packaging" and "spoken skills" are also one of the important factors that induce victims to choose loan surgery.

Suspects often persuade applicants as a "president driver": "When an assistant needs to attend many business activities with the boss, he has high requirements on the image, and he can arrange a job for you only after reshaping." Some victims think that "after employment The salary is very high, enough to repay the loan", and finally agreed to loan reshaping.

  Judge reminds job applicants

Do not blindly consume in formal channels for employment

Li Mian, assistant judge of the First Criminal Division of the Beijing Third Intermediate Court, reminded job-seekers that they should choose formal institutions and channels for job-hunting and employment, and pay attention to reviewing the qualifications of relevant recruiting units and interviewers.

If you find that the interview location is not formal or the job content is unrealistic, or even requires large sums of money or loans to be paid in advance, you must think about whether it is a "pit".

Job seekers should choose positions that match their own conditions.

As a consumer, to review the qualifications of medical aesthetic institutions, you can check whether relevant units have negative news as a reference.

Before getting a loan for beauty, you must carefully evaluate your own economic conditions and repayment ability. If you are required to provide a false qualification certificate and unit monthly salary to the lending institution to prove the repayment ability, you must be vigilant.

Before signing a beauty consumer loan contract, the loan period, agreed interest rate, guarantee clause, overdue clause, liquidated damage clause, authorization clause, etc. should be clarified in the loan contract to prevent the relevant agencies from using various names to aggravate losses.

In addition, recruitment websites, loan platforms, and medical and aesthetic institutions should also assume social responsibilities and perform their obligations to carefully review relevant information.

Financial supervision, industry and commerce departments should also pay attention to a series of problems caused by "beauty loans", and strengthen supervision, not only to form a joint force with judicial authorities to fight crime, but also to prevent young people from being induced to consume blindly.

In an interview with a reporter from Beijing Youth Daily, senior HR Chen Feng said that if you want to find a reliable job, you must do more homework.

Before submitting your resume, you can go to the National Enterprise Credit Publicity Information System, or refer to third-party information query tools such as Tianyan Check, Enterprise Check, etc. to see the company's business license, enterprise credit, business information, and so on.

You can also check the evaluation of the company by current and former employees through recruitment websites, workplace social software, etc.

In addition, "The promise that the interviewer opens his mouth must think about whether it can be fulfilled."
