Italian designer
Giorgio Armani
reported today that it is canceling its shows scheduled for January in Milan Men's Fashion Week and in the week dedicated to Haute Couture in Paris due to the increase in cases of coronavirus in Europe.
The Italian fashion house explained in a note that the decision responds to careful consideration given the worsening of the epidemiological situation, derived from the rapid spread of cases of the omicron variant.
The Italian firm also indicated that the 87-year-old designer has always defended that "the parades are special and irreplaceable moments", but that "the protection of the health and safety of employees and the public is once again a priority."
Milan Men's Fashion Week will be held from January 14 to 18, while the Week dedicated to Parisian Haute Couture will take place from January 24 to 27.
