A medical team in Dubai succeeded in performing an emergency caesarean section for a comatose pregnant mother under artificial respirators, and was able to deliver her, to give birth to her daughter at the 27th week of pregnancy, amid anticipation from the family and doctors due to the seriousness of the condition.

Mother Maham and father Omar were preparing for the birth of their first child when it was discovered that Maham was infected with the “Covid-19” virus in the second trimester of her pregnancy, which necessitated her immediate admission to the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Dubai.

The doctors developed an initial plan that requires working on the care of the fetus up to 28 weeks and then reducing the risks of any possible complications, but the condition of the mother, Maham, was getting worse in a way that threatened to put her child at risk, so the medical team decided to deliver her immediately at only 27 weeks, through a caesarean section. emergency in the intensive care unit, in order to save the life of the mother and her first child.

As soon as she was born, the baby girl (Doaa) was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit, and she was also placed under a ventilator for a period of time due to her premature birth.
