New developments in the case of Karim El-Hawary, which resulted in the killing of 4 students

The Giza Criminal Court in Egypt decided to postpone the first session of the trial of the accused, Karim El-Hawary, son of businessman Mohamed El-Hawary, accused of committing an accident that killed 4 young men, as he was driving his car at a crazy speed under the influence of narcotics, to the next February 5 session for information.

The Public Prosecution had referred the accused to trial, accusing him of possessing the substance of cocaine, with intent to abuse, and driving his car at a crazy speed under the influence of narcotic substances, which caused the death of the victims, due to his negligence, carelessness and lack of respect for special regulations and laws.

The referral order included that the accused, Karim Mohamed Al-Hawari, drove his car at a speed that exceeded the maximum permissible limit, under the influence of narcotics, which resulted in the death of the 4 victims, and obtained alcohol and narcotic substances in his car that he was under the influence of, which caused the Sheikh Zayed accident.

The referral order added that the accused drove his car while intoxicated, which resulted in endangering the lives and money of citizens, and also damaged the car of one of the victims, due to his negligence. .

The Egyptian Public Prosecution had earlier ordered the detention of two lawyers from Karim El-Hawary's defense team, pending investigation, on charges of impersonating prosecutors to obscure the evidence of the case at the scene of the accident.

A judicial source revealed to "Sky News Arabia" details of what happened, stressing that the policemen, immediately after the accident, received a report from the owner of the house in which there was a surveillance camera on the road and monitored the accident, stating that two people told him that they were prosecutors and wanted to seize the camera, but he was suspicious. He ordered them and asked them to show their ID cards, so they fled before the police came.

The source stated that the policemen issued a report on the incident, and during the investigation into the main case of the run-over, the owner of the aforementioned house was among the witnesses. In one of the investigation sessions, he was surprised by the presence of the two persons impersonating prosecutors, so he informed the investigation authorities of the matter.
