[Explanation] The colorful and layered paper-cut work in front of me is often "misunderstood"-when many people see it, they think it is an oil painting.

In fact, it is a three-dimensional paper-cut work made of 8 layers of special cardboard.

This work is by Li Baofeng, the Jilin paper-cutting artist who gave the paper-cutting unique artistic charm.

On January 1, more than a dozen representative works of Li Baofeng were exhibited in a bookstore in Changchun, attracting many citizens to watch them up close.

Paper-cutting is China's intangible cultural heritage, and it is also Li Baofeng's lifelong love.

38 years ago, she picked up the scissors and cut out the first paper-cutting work. Since then, she has become in love with paper-cutting.

Li Baofeng told reporters that on the basis of traditional paper-cutting, she absorbed the characteristics of traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking and other painting characteristics, and formed a personal characteristic paper-cutting style with rich colors and strong three-dimensional impression.

Taking one of the works on display as an example, Li Baofeng meticulously recalled every difficulty he overcome in the creative process.

I just introduced that it is made with 8-layer paper-cutting technique. It looks like an oil painting, but it has a certain level in it.

The most difficult thing is what the first layer does, and what the second layer does, including when combined together is also difficult.

For example, on this face, where is the texture of the line going, if you want to cut a little bit on the next layer, the picture will be messy and not beautiful, so we think it is more difficult to do in the creative process of each layer. of.

[Explanation] China's magnificent rivers and mountains, and the unique folk culture of different regions are all Li Baofeng's creative objects and sources of inspiration.

Li Baofeng told reporters that because of the big difference from traditional paper-cut works, her works are often mistaken for traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, watercolors and other types of works of art.

This kind of "misunderstanding" became an encouragement in Li Baofeng's eyes, allowing her to continue to stick to her creative style.

Li Baofeng has created more than a thousand works since he became involved with paper-cutting.

In order to better inherit this precious art with a long history, Li Baofeng not only exhibited her works in many places in China, but also held paper-cutting art exhibitions and live performances in the United States, Russia, South Korea, Indonesia and other countries.

At present, Li Baofeng has accepted many students, and some of them have won international awards for their paper-cutting art.

Li Baofeng said that when the art of paper-cutting enters the school, children will be the main force to inherit this art in the future.

In Shuangyang District (Changchun City) I built a Baofeng Art School of nearly 60,000 square meters, including my 10,000 square meters Baofeng Art Museum of Jilin Province.

(I think) to drive more people to engage in this industry, to bring our art to the society, let more children pass on, and tell our Chinese story well.
