Kanagawa Prefecture announced that it was confirmed that two men living in the prefecture who returned from overseas were infected with the Omicron strain.


According to the prefecture, it seems that none of them are community-acquired, so the total number of confirmed infections with Omicron strains in the prefecture is five.

Infection with the Omicron strain was confirmed in both men in their 20s and men in their 60s living in the prefecture.



After returning from overseas on the 20th and 21st of this month, the two waited at their homes and accommodations, and after that, positive results were confirmed, and genome analysis confirmed that they were infected with the Omicron strain.

According to the prefecture, none of them seems to be a community-acquired infection.



A total of 5 people have been confirmed to be infected with the Omicron strain in Kanagawa Prefecture.
