The revelations of the book

Tim - The Official Biography of Avicii

are overwhelming for fans of the artist.

The Swedish DJ, committed suicide in April 2018, when he was only 28 years old and he was at the top of his game.

And if his battle with depression and alcohol addiction were already known to those close to him, his state of mind in the days leading up to his death has always remained a big question mark… until now.

The New York Post, which obtained a copy of the book (slated for release in 2022), reveals some excerpts, in particular the words he wrote in his diary.

Tim Bergling (his real name) reveals how his addiction to alcohol was persistent, even after his time in rehab.

“I had a hard time coming to terms with never drinking again, although all the doctors strongly advised me to wait at least a year before drinking a beer.

Of course, I didn't listen to the majority of doctors, I listened to the few people who told me it was okay if I was careful.

», He confided.

Ignorant and naive

Avicii's diary also reveals how tired the international DJ was from the incessant and - according to him - repetitive tours.

“I was ignorant and naive and circled the world, always touring endlessly - because once you got around it once, guess what?

You start over right away.

Those days in the hospital have been the most scary and stressful days I can remember in the past six years, they were my real vacation, as depressing as it sounds… ”he adds.

To evacuate his anxieties, his addictions and his pains (he suffered from pancreatitis), Tim Bergling began to meditate.

A practice that he details in his diary but that he used, as often in his life, excessively, for several hours a day "while the recommended time does not exceed 20 minutes", specifies the New York Post .

“I feel like I'm in a new default mode of existence, which is very new and a little scary.

I felt like the fears of the past two days have taken their toll on me, but I remember the advice to focus on my breathing, ”he wrote, referring to the meditation, a few days before his suicide.

The last note also seems to relate to the meditation: "The soul's stripping is the last attachment, before it starts again!"

".

Tim - The Official Biography of Avicii will be

released on January 18th.
