A drunken man commits an act against his daughter in the absence of his wife
A shameful incident surfaced in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, where Indian newspapers reported that a 37-year-old man raped his 10-year-old daughter in his home in the absence of his wife.
According to the Indian press, the accused was under the influence of alcohol when he sexually assaulted his daughter.
According to Indian newspaper reports about the incident, the victim, who is a fifth grade primary student, recounted her horrific ordeal to her mother after the latter came home from work, after which the wife immediately went to the police station to file a complaint against her husband.
Based on the wife's complaint, the police registered a complaint against the accused under Article 7 (sexual assault) and Article 8 (penalty for sexual assault) of the Child Sexual Offenses Act.
The accused was arrested last Tuesday and brought before the special "Protection of Children from Sexual Crimes" court, after which he was sent to judicial custody in prison.
