According to Kochi Prefecture, a man in his 40s living in the prefecture returned from overseas on the 24th of this month, and a PCR test received at the quarantine station at Kansai Airport confirmed that he was infected with the new coronavirus.



After that, he was hospitalized in a medical institution in Kochi prefecture from the 29th at the request of the quarantine station, and as a result of the subsequent genome analysis, it was confirmed that he was infected with the "Omicron strain" on the 30th.



In Kochi prefecture, the infection was confirmed by the inspection at the quarantine station, so it is not added to the number of confirmed infections in the prefecture.
