A new decree published on Sunday, December 26 in the Official Journal bristles the hair of associations at war against hunting.

This decision emanating from the executive power decreases "the time between the publication of the annual prefectural decree opening of the shooting range" and the day of its opening.

Before the decree, 20 days separated them.

From now on it will be only seven.

A measure, described as "new gift from the government to hunters" on Twitter by the Foundation 30 million friends.

Indeed, the shortening of this period "reduces our recourse capacities", adds Yves VĂ©rilhac, general manager of the League for the protection of birds (LPO).

He criticizes "a work of environmental unraveling" under the chairmanship of Emmanuel Macron.

A new gift from @gouvernementFR to #chasseurs!

A decree reduces the time between the publication of the annual decree opening the #hunting shooting & its entry into effect ... thus hampering the possibilities for appeal by #ProtectionAnimale NGOs.

Government accused of complying with hunters' requests

The government is regularly accused by nature conservation associations of yielding to the demands of hunters, who with around 1.1 million valid hunting licenses, constitute a much coveted electorate a few months before the presidential election.

"We too often oppose on the one hand the associations which fight for the animal cause and on the other the breeders and hunters, who are actors of rurality.

We will only advance by reconciling, ”pleaded Emmanuel Macron in October.
