Medical warning: Do not drink very hot tea!

Some types of cancer can be prevented through a healthy diet, and some studies indicate that there are some foods and drinks that are recommended to be avoided to contribute to promoting cancer prevention, and one of these drinks is very hot tea.

And according to the British newspaper “Express”, some scientific results indicate that drinking tea at a high temperature can double the risk of cancer in some cases, and a recent study shows that drinking tea at temperatures exceeding 60 degrees Celsius can increase the risk of infection. Especially esophageal cancer.

The study, published in the International Journal of Cancer, was based on data collected from more than 50,000 participants, all of whom provided information about their socioeconomic status and other factors considered influencing cancer risk.

According to the American Cancer Society, many people enjoy drinking tea, coffee or other hot beverages, but it is advised to wait until hot beverages have cooled before drinking, as drinking very hot tea can increase the risk of esophageal cancer.

The NHS notes that because traditions differ from country to country, so do the ways of drinking tea, and in the UK most people add cold milk to tea, which causes it to cool quickly.

The study noted that there are other factors that affect the risk of cancer more than drinking very hot tea, such as smoking and alcohol consumption.
