Like every year, the JDD unveiled the top 50 favorite personalities of the French, produced with the Ifop institute.
The ranking, divided between women and men, offers few surprises in 2021 since it is once again dominated by Sophie Marceau and Jean-Jacques Goldman.
In second place, Thomas Pesquet made a sensational entry into the men's top 10.
Which personalities made your heart vibrate in 2021?
Like every year, the JDD unveiled its ranking of the 50 favorite stars of the French.
And, unsurprisingly, it is once again the actress Sophie Marceau who dominates the female charts and the singer Jean-Jacques Goldman who is in the lead among the men.
Behind him, a new kid: Thomas Pesquet.
Marceau and Goldman have a "rare word"
This is the eleventh time that Jean-Jacques Goldman has been crowned, the third for Sophie Marceau (the ranking became equal only two years ago, in 2019).
By gaining nine places, astronaut Thomas Pesquet, who spent six months in space, dethroned Omar Sy, in second place.

How to interpret this classification?

For Arnaud Focraud, the French do not "applaud them for what they do today, but for all of their work".
"We love Goldman for all his hits that have crossed our lives. And we love Marceau because it is the eternal Vic in La boum that the French have seen grow for forty years", argues the journalist.

The Pesquet rocket approaches the planet Goldman
The shattering entry of Thomas Pesquet into the men's top 10 is much more surprising. "It's a bit like the Pesquet rocket approaching the Goldman planet", notes Arnaud Focraud with humor. Thomas was eleventh in the men's race last year and tumbles to second in 2021. "He is probably enjoying his second trip to space today, which ended last month. Pesquet, that is. is a bit the opposite of Goldman and Marceau. We see it a lot. It entered people's lives a little while ago, "explains the journalist on Europe. "But what he does is so extraordinary that it elicits admiration."
The main entry for women is Françoise Hardy, who arrives in twelfth place in the standings.
"It's totally unexpected. I am both surprised and touched," responded the 77-year-old singer, who has been fighting cancer for years.
Marion Cotillard and Florence Foresti are making their return to the top 3, to the detriment of Alexandra Lamy and Mimie Mathy.
The JDD notes that the top 10 female personalities are the same as in 2020.
No political figures
No politician appears in the top 50 of the JDD.
And this is not surprising, as Arnaud Focraud explains.
"We will say that favorite personalities and politicians are not really compatible things," he underlines.
"The main presidential candidates were proposed. Marine Le Pen, Valérie Pécresse, Eric Zemmour, the left-wing candidates and Emmanuel Macron, of course, and even Edouard Philippe. In the end, none of them made it into the ranking. To be high in the rankings. the top 50, you have to be consensual. You have to unite everyone. Today, this is not really what happens when you are a politician, "concludes the journalist.
