China launches a new satellite into space to monitor natural resources

China launched a new satellite into orbit to monitor natural resources from the Taiwan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Sunday, according to the China Daily.

The satellite, "ZY-102E", was launched at 11:11 a.m. (Beijing time) by a carrier rocket, "Long March-4C".

The satellite, developed by the Chinese Academy of Space Technology, will operate in solar synchronous orbit.

Another satellite, ZY-102D, was launched into orbit on September 12, 2019. The two Natural Resource Monitoring satellites will form a network to meet the current need for mid-range remote sensing data in natural resource monitoring. And studying them, prospecting for minerals and monitoring the geological environment.

Qamran also provides services to sectors such as disaster reduction, environmental protection, transportation and agriculture.
