China News Service, Xi'an, December 25th (Reporter Dang Tianye) Although many days have passed, when talking about his trip to Xi'an, Nanjing youth Lu Yuan still finds it incredible.

Why did he encounter an epidemic when he got off the plane, and then couldn't return home, and finally became a volunteer for epidemic prevention?

Lu Yuan thought for a while and told reporters that this might be a special fate.

Lu Yuan, 25 years old this year, is engaged in file management in a company in Nanjing, taking part-time photography in his spare time.

He had never been to Xi'an and was full of interest in this ancient city, so Lu Yuan flew to Xi'an on December 18, planning to visit the Bell and Drum Tower, the city wall, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and other scenic spots to take some footage.

"At that time, I was thinking about going home for two or three days, because it was the end of the year and I had to be busy with work. As a result, I encountered an epidemic and the flight was cancelled." The hotel looked at the epidemic information and tried every means to leave the city.

However, as the epidemic situation gradually became severe, from 0:00 on December 23, communities (villages) and units in Xi'an City implemented closed management.

This mega city with a population of 13 million suddenly pressed the "pause button", which also forced Lu Yuan's plan to return home to "strand".

After gradually recognizing the reality, Lu Yuan understood, "Only when the epidemic is gone, can I go home earlier."

So he had the idea of being a volunteer for epidemic prevention.

During work breaks, Lu Yuan, an epidemic prevention volunteer, took the time to eat fast food at his work station.

“An epidemic has also occurred in Nanjing before. Looking at the volunteers very hard, I was also touched by their efforts. This time in Xi’an, I want to make a contribution.” Lu Yuan said, searching on the Internet and he found a street. After communicating with the phone, he eventually became an epidemic prevention volunteer.

On December 25, Xi'an ushered in a heavy snowfall during the epidemic, and a new round of nucleic acid testing was also started.

In Xiyi Community, Huancheng West Road Street, Lianhu District, Xi'an, volunteer Lu Yuan is about to start daily work.

The community currently served by Lu Yuan has more than 4,000 households with more than 14,000 people.

Community epidemic prevention and control work mainly includes nucleic acid testing, protection of households in quarantine at home, and circulation adjustment.

Although he is a volunteer from other places, Lu Yuan does not feel that he is special. Like other epidemic prevention personnel, he works hard every day.

In the eyes of Liu Qian, deputy secretary of Xiyi Community, Huancheng West Road Street, Lianhu District, Xi'an, Lu Yuan was particularly motivated. He did his best to move materials and verify data.

"When we started in the morning, he also started, and in the evening, he worked with everyone until late at night. It was very good."

Lu Yuan said that after a few days of work, he experienced the hardships of grassroots epidemic prevention personnel.

Everyone must not only fight the epidemic, but also calm the people's emotions, and sometimes they will be complained and misunderstood.

Some colleagues wiped away their tears secretly and continued to stick to their posts.

Although he has been told to his parents about his detention, Lu Yuan has not let them know about being a volunteer, mainly because he does not want his family to worry too much.

The climate and diet of Xi'an made Lu Yuan, who grew up in the south, a little uncomfortable, and made him homesick. He dragged his tired body back to the hotel every night. What he missed most was his family and the food in his hometown.

This kind of longing also supported him to continue to fight the "epidemic".

"Now that people are out of town, they realize that being able to go home is also a kind of happiness." Lu Yuan said that he hopes that through the efforts of himself and many epidemic prevention personnel, the epidemic in Xi'an can get better soon, so that the wanderers can reunite with their families as soon as possible. .
