On the 24th, Kyoto Prefecture announced that it was newly confirmed that three people living in the prefecture were infected with the new mutant virus "Omicron strain" of the new coronavirus.

Infection was confirmed in two women in their thirties and one man in their fifties, for a total of three people.

Since none of them have traveled abroad and the infection route is unknown at the moment, Kyoto Prefecture thinks that there is a high possibility of so-called community-acquired infection.

Also, two of the three women are in the same workplace.

On the 23rd, a female in her twenties was confirmed to be the first community-acquired infection of the "Omicron strain" in Kyoto Prefecture.
