The 107-year-old author Ma Shitu's new work "That Time, That Man" was published recently.
Last year, Mr. Ma Shitu wrote an affectionate "confession of pen" letter: "I am a hundred and six years old, old and rotten, and I should have sealed pens for a long time in my career." He said that he would not write new works since then. It was so difficult to "retire" the literary world, stop thinking, and put down the pen that I loved, and Mr. Ma did not disappoint.
This year, Ma Shitu not only published his first Oracle book "Ma Shitu Southwestern Associated University Oracle Notes", but also published a collection of essays on recalling people "In That Era, Such People" by People's Publishing House.
Ma Shitu’s daughter Ma Wanmei revealed that the manuscript of the book was basically written by Ma himself on the computer one by one. Because he wrote on the computer screen every day, he had trouble with his eyes and went to West China Hospital. For injections to treat eye diseases, the doctor advised him to use the computer as little as possible.
Since then, Ma Lao changed his pen to handwriting, and started holding a pen in one hand and a magnifying glass in the other.
Ma Shitu is a witness of the past era. In order to write this book, he once again opened the dusty memory box in his mind and picked up the imprints that the deceased scholars, teachers and friends, and relatives had made in his mind, the bits and pieces of the past. After reading it, people can't help crying.
The new work is about to be released. Ma Shitu takes this to say a few words of truth to the readers. He writes very sincerely: "This book is presented to the readers. It has already wasted a lot of time for everyone. I don’t want to be verbose, just a few points. : 1. The characters included in this book are all dead; 2. These characters have been more or less related to me, at least I know them; 3. What I wrote is something I can remember I can’t check the facts or occasional mistakes; fourth, I still want to say one last thing, and once again I want to learn from Ba Jin, I’m telling the truth.”
According to reports, the book "That Time, That Man" is divided into 5 volumes. In the first volume of "Literature", he recalled Lu Xun, Guo Moruo, Zhou Yang, Ba Jin, Bing Xin, Yang Hansheng, Zhang Guangnian, and Wen Yiduo. , Wu Mi, Wang Zengqi, Xia Yan, Cao Yu, Liu Shaotang, Huang Zongjiang, Yang Jiang, Zhou Youguang, Li Jieren, Li Yaqun, He Qifang, Sha Ting, Ai Wu, Zhou Keqin, Che Fu and other 25 famous literary circles have passed away.
