Charlene of Monaco is doing better, but unfortunately not enough to spend the end of year celebrations on the Rock.

The palace announced in a statement that the princess must continue her convalescence, putting an end to the hopes of Monegasques to see her participate in the festivities.

For Prince Albert II, her husband, and their children, Jacques and Gabriella, it also means that she will not join them for New Years Eve or December 25.

"HSH Prince Albert II and their children are going to visit him on the occasion of the Christmas holidays", specifies the Palace in its announcement.

Long recovery

Another bad news, "his recovery should take a few more months."

Nevertheless, his convalescence "continues in a satisfactory and encouraging way".

Princess Charlene suffered from a severe ENT infection in the spring, requiring multiple surgeries while in South Africa, her homeland.

She only returned to Monaco at the beginning of November.

She barely had time to pose for an official family photo and she returned to the care center.

Prince Albert's wife was not taken care of in the principality "for reasons of confidentiality", her husband had specified.

She is trying to recover from a state of general fatigue, according to the reigning prince.
