Patrice Beaumelle, the coach of the Ivory Coast team, gave the list of the 28 players who will go to preparation for the next African Cup of Nations, scheduled for January 9 to February 6 in Cameroon.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) indeed authorizes the selections to bring up to 28 players to CAN 2021, because of the risks of positive cases of Covid-19.

Among those called up for the tournament, no surprise.

There was uncertainty about Wilfried Zaha, on the cold side with the French coach a few weeks ago.

But the Crystal Palace winger was finally called up.

On the other hand, midfielder Seko Fofana, sparkling with RC Lens, is not there.

He had asked to be left at the disposal of his club for the next few months ...

Note that three local players, Eliezer Ira Tape (FC San Pedro), Abdoul Karim Cissé (ASEC Mimosas) and Karim Konaté (ASEC Mimosas), will be part of the adventure.

The team led by Serge Aurier, Éric Bailly, Geoffroy Serey Die, Franck Kessié, Max-Alain Gradel or even Sébastien Haller will play against Equatorial Guinea (January 12), Sierra Leone (January 16) and Algeria (20 January), in group E of this CAN 2021.
