The Stallions of Burkina Faso are almost ready for the next African Cup of Nations (

CAN 2021

).

Their coach, Kamou Malo, will just have to remove at least one player from his squad, at the end of the preparation course for CAN 2021. The technician has indeed summoned 29 players while CAF exceptionally authorizes - because of the Covid- 19 - a team to take up to 28 elements against 23 usually.

In this "preselection" do not appear the names of some illustrious alumni, such as those of Alain Traoré and Abdou Razack Traoré.

Midfielder Bryan Dabo is also missing.

Striker Lassina Traoré, a great hope for Burkinabè football, was already forfeited, the victim of a serious injury in the Champions League with Shakhtar Donetsk.

As a reminder, Burkina Faso will play the opening match of CAN 2021 against Cameroon on January 9.

Then, the Stallions will follow up against Cape Verde (January 13) and Ethiopia (January 17), still in group A.
