The Tianjin Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention performed high-throughput sequencing and sequence analysis of the entire genome of the new coronavirus on the 148th confirmed case of new coronary pneumonia in the city.
Sequencing analysis results showed that the virus belongs to the VOC/delta mutant strain (AY.4 branch), which is the same branch as the VOC/delta mutant strain currently circulating in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, suggesting that this case is the same transmission chain of the Shaoxing, Zhejiang epidemic.
The Tianjin Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters reported on December 21 that a person returning to Tianjin from Shaoxing, Zhejiang, had a positive nucleic acid test during the quarantine period. After a comprehensive analysis by the city-level expert group, he was determined to be a common type of confirmed case of new coronary pneumonia.
