A 9-year-old boy who wrote in his diary, "I hope it will be more fun tomorrow," died the next day in an accident caused by a drunk driving car in Otsu City.

A 42-year-old office worker accused of lethal driving in this accident will be sentenced by the Otsu District Court on the 21st.

This accident happened on a national highway in Otsu City in May.

A 9-year-old boy in the 4th grade who was traveling with his family from Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, collided with a car running backwards on the national highway, and the boy died.

The boy wrote a diary every day and said, "I hope tomorrow will be more fun" the day before the accident.

Hiroshi Kang, a 42-year-old office worker in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, who was driving a car that ran backwards in this accident, was accused of dangerous driving.

In a trial held at the Otsu District Court, the prosecutor's office sentenced him to six years in prison for being drunk and having difficulty driving normally.

The boy's parents also attended the trial and complained that "drunk driving robbed his son of the future."

On the other hand, the defendant admitted that he drank alcohol, and insisted that "the amount of alcohol is small and does not affect driving, it is a doze driving", and applies a lightly sentenced negligent driving fatal crime etc. I am asking.

The judgment will be handed down at 4 pm on the 21st.
