On the side of the EU and its Green Deal, the European Parliament seized last month (October 2021) of 12 proposals for the climate.
The objective of this vast legislative package is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Europe by at least 55% by 2030. Industry, transport, housing, all businesses, all citizens will be involved.
But a tax measure that would concern domestic heating raises many questions, because it would first hit the poorest and most vulnerable, while tens of thousands of Europeans already suffer from fuel poverty.
