This is the first legislative council election after the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's electoral system has been improved.

As of 19:30, the number of voters in direct district elections has reached 1,184,800, and the electoral committee's voter turnout rate has reached 97.44%.

  In this Legislative Council election, a total of 153 candidates competed for 90 seats, including 40 members elected by the Election Committee, 30 members elected by functional constituencies, and 20 members directly elected by districts.
