On December 16, a reporter from China News Agency visited the southern section of Beijing Metro Line 17 which will soon be opened.
This section is 16.5 kilometers long and has 7 stations including Shilihe, Shibalidian and Jiahuihu. It will be opened at the end of 2021. By then, it will only take 18 minutes from Ciqu Station to Songjiazhuang Station, which is longer than the current Yizhuang Line. It's about half an hour.
The southern section of Line 17 is the first section to be opened. The surrounding areas are mainly residential and commercial areas. After the opening, the daily average passenger volume is about 76,000, and the main passenger flow is commuter passengers.
