A solar storm will hit Earth tomorrow..and this is what it might do to our planet

Astronomers have warned of the activity of a possible solar storm that will strike the Earth tomorrow, and they confirmed that there is likely to be a stream of solar wind on its way to our planet, carrying charged particles from the upper reaches of the sun’s atmosphere, but it is not expected to have noticeable damage to our planet except in the North Pole.

The British newspaper, "Express", said that the "fast-moving" moving current was discovered after the appearance of a giant hole in the southern hemisphere of the star, and these alleged coronal holes are regions in the sun's corona (upper atmosphere) where the plasma is cooler and less dense than the surrounding areas .

According to NASA, the solar wind typically reaches between one and two million miles per hour.

The current heading our way is expected to hit the planet by Thursday, according to astronomers at the Space Weather website.

And "Express" stated that if this happens, the interactions between the Earth's magnetic field and materials coming from the sun can lead to a combination of solar activity and geomagnetic disturbances (solar storms).

The Space Weather website said: "A stream of fast-moving solar winds can hit the Earth's magnetic field on December 16. Gaseous material flows from a southern hole in the sun's atmosphere. Polar geomagnetic disturbances and aurora borealis in the North Pole are expected when the winds blow."

Depending on their intensity, solar storms can have a wide range of impacts on the planet, minor storms can lead to weak fluctuations in power grids, confuse some migratory animals and can produce auroras at high latitudes, but as their intensity increases, so does their potential impact. on terrestrial and orbital technology.

While storms create beautiful auroras, they can also disrupt navigation systems such as the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), and at the moment no noticeable geomagnetic disturbances are expected around the planet.
