In the middle of the 19th century, domestic guardians liked to explain various internal unfavorable developments by the “Polish intrigue” - approximately as it is now customary to sin on foreign agents.

Now, however, the "Polish intrigue" is more harmful for the improvement of the EU.

A universal formula applicable to both Nicholas I and L.I.

Brezhnev:

"Even though he was a brave guy

And not even a fool

But under his dominion

The Pole began to rebel ",

now applicable to Brussels chiefs.

And everyone is wondering if they will take drastic measures:

“And that is not to our liking;

And then one day in the night

We asked them pepper

And they drove everyone away ",

or they will try to put the brakes on the case.

And this is not a joke.

The EU Court ruled that Poland is obliged to pay the European Union € 1 million every day until it starts working on the reform of its judicial system prescribed by Brussels (now in Poland, according to the EU, the executive power greatly prevails over the judicial branch, in particular, judges are very replaceable) ...

To which Prime Minister Morawiecki promised that Brussels would respond if he unleashed a "third world war" with Poland.

So bluntly and said: third and world.

In Warsaw today (although not only in Warsaw - why are Kiev and London worse?), The lightness in figurative expressions is extraordinary.

The European leaders were not afraid of the third world war (although Poland is a formidable enemy, the Germans are the guarantee of that) and instructed to collect daily fines, and if the Poles refuse to pay in an amicable way, then collect not in an amicable way, in an indisputable manner, that is, deducting the fines of the subsidies currently owed to Poland.

In Warsaw they answered: “You have no right,” and since the question is complicated - either they don't have, or they have, - they backed it up with a promise to block all EU decisions where unanimity is required.

That is, to apply to the EU the democratic principle of the Commonwealth, where in the Diet any nobleman could say: “Not permissible,” and the question was removed from discussion.

Now the European Commission can become such a diet, at least the Poles promise it.

However, there is an essential detail.

Despite the extreme harshness of the polemics (and the polemics concern not only the issues of the judiciary, but also the issues of sodomy, abortion, etc.), the Polish leadership carefully avoids talking about a radical solution to the problem, that is, leaving the EU.

Although then the issue with unrighteous judges, as well as with pride parades, will be resolved by itself.

The ruling PiS party reasonably believes that in the event of an exit, not only the subsidies will stop altogether (they are already coming to an end regardless of Poland's behavior), but the political opportunities of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth will be significantly reduced.

See the example of the United Kingdom, where the rhetoric of the current ministers is terrible and formidable, but at the same time, after Brexit, no one is particularly interesting.

Leaving the EU will provoke an obvious answer (in plain text or contained in the subtext): "You were not here, citizeness."

From within, even with constant scandals, there are much more opportunities to influence something.

Therefore, now relations between Poland and the EU are comparable to bargaining, where both sides are desperately bluffing, but no one is ready for a final break.

Something like the early phase of the parade of sovereignty in the USSR, when everything seemed only trade and demagoguery, and no one (at least at the level of the authorities) thought about real disintegration.

True, in this kind of trade there is always a danger of being overplayed.

In 2016, British Prime Minister Cameron was not going to leave the EU at all, he only wanted to intimidate the European allies so that they would be more compliant.

And then the green one went on its own - and with great force.
