France on Tuesday transferred to the Malian Armed Forces the grip of Timbuktu, in northern Mali, where it closed its military base as planned as part of the redeployment of French soldiers from Operation Barkhane announced last summer by the President Emmanuel Macron.

The Tunisian opposition was quick to react to President Kais Saied's statements.

He spoke yesterday to announce a referendum and legislative elections by 2022. The exceptional regime and the freezing of parliament is still in force, which is not to everyone's taste.
