The university anticipates the end of year celebrations and takes precautions.

Aix-Marseille University sent a letter on December 13 to all students and administrators to announce the closure of its premises from January 3 to 15.

Unique measure in France

"Following the resurgence of cases of Covid-19 in the university and the deterioration of the health situation, we are again forced to take measures to limit the proliferation of the virus, and hope to return to the situation we know since the start of the 2021 academic year as soon as possible, ”writes the university on its site.

This exceptional measure, the only resumption for the moment among all the other universities in France, aims to anticipate possible contamination during the holiday season.

It also aims to ensure that face-to-face exams are held with a gauge of one-third of the capacity of the rooms, as established by the university's studies and student life department.

Only medical students, from the second year, are exempt from this measure.
