Animal health is serious business.
We must first protect the health of the herd, to help the breeder to optimize his productions.
Or failing that, to limit its losses.
At the same time, we protect the populations who will consume milk, meat and other products from livestock.
The rural municipality, which houses a veterinary health post, therefore has two advantages.
First for the producer in his village, then for the end consumer, whether in town or in the village.

The commune of Ipélcé is 45 kilometers south of Ouagadougou, in Burkina Faso.
The rural commune has 13 administrative villages, plus the capital Ipélcé.
In Ipélcé, the average annual precipitation ranges between 600 mm and 900 mm.
So we can do agriculture and livestock.
However, as in all the countries of the Sahel, there are animal health problems.

Previously, the populations had to fend for themselves on their own to operate the animal health post.
Luckily, Ipélcé was able to benefit from the support of the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources.
And the equipment has evolved in quantity and quality.
