Four hundred investigations have been opened to dismantle networks of fake health passes, of which "several thousand" have been detected in France by the police, said Gerald Darmanin on Sunday.
"We have about 400 investigations into networks of fake health passes, sometimes unfortunately in connection with health professionals," said the Minister of the Interior, during his interview with the Grand Jury RTL-Le Figaro-LCI.

Gérald Darmanin specified that there had already been "arrests" within the framework of these investigations without specifying the number and recalled that the penalties incurred were "extremely heavy, five years in prison" for the organizers of these networks.
At the end of November, a doctor from Val-de-Marne suspected of having sold at least 220 fake health passes was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention.
A 57-year-old woman who had obtained a false vaccination certificate died of Covid-19 at Raymond-Poincaré hospital in Garches, the head of the establishment's intensive care unit said on Friday.
A false vaccination certificate "does not protect against the virus and can falsely refer the doctor who takes care of you", underlined Djillali Annane, head of the intensive care unit.
